I’m running out of title for this perennial outing!
Alright, let’s make the best out of it!
The above seasonal sashimi set includes (from left to right):
“Katsuo/bonito”, “Uni/sea urchin”, “Torigai/surf clam” under “Hirame/sole”, “Ishidai/seabream variety”, “Aka ika/Red cuttlefish” and “Akami/tuna lean part”.
To help me wait for my next order, I was offered “on the house” a few pieces of succulent “Konbu ko mochi/herring roe pressed on both sides of a seaweed leaf”.
The order in question is a bit of an acquired taste for some, but for a Frenchman!
“Ba sashi/thin slices of raw horsemeat” served with grated ginger, grated garlic and thinly cut leeks.
I actually offered a few pieces to the ladies ogling at my dish!

Why … horse meat is good.
Really, the hypocrisy of the people, why eat cows and not horse, dogs nor whales? We kill them, if we didn’t eat them there death (and life) would be in vain. WE are all part of the food-chain. Taking this into account either we stop killing ANYthing or we stop growing cows, horse, goat, rabbits, dogs, cats, chickens, … after all those species do exist because of man.
It’s the same all debate all-over again.

Would you know that England (Great Britain) is actually the biggest horsemeat exporter to France with abattoirs in Dover and Folkestone?
Some politicians recently asked for their closure (vainly!)!

I can see why Whale meat could be illegal, why Pork meat could be illegal in some countries but horsemeat? Do you live in Texas?

raw meat is not an acquired taste! It’s what all people ate in the neolithic!
