Shizuoka Sake Tasting Kanzawaga Brewery, Shosetsu Karakuchi Junmai Homare Fuji
Shosetsu Karakuchi Junmai Homare Fuji. Kanzawagawa Brewery was founded in 1912 near the Rver Kanzawa in Yui, Shimizu Ku, Shizuoka City. This sake was entirely made with Homare Fuji, a sake rice native of Shizuoka Prefecture!
Rice: Homare Fuj (Shizuoka)
Rice milled down to 60%
Alcohol: 15~16%
Clarity: very clear
Color: light golden hue
Aroma: Assertive, dry and fruity. Pineapple, pears, vanilla
Taste: velvety, dry and fruity attack backed by some Junmai petillant. Complex and fleeting. Plums, pears, pineapple, vanilla. Disappears quickly enough on notes of dry pineapple and mandarin oranges. Changes little with food.
Comments: Eminently enjoyable sake in spite of its modest appellation. Complex and difficult to catch. Elegant enough to be savored on its own.
