Postage Stamps Bus in Iwata City?

Buses are not decorated for advertisement only in Shizuoka but more or less everywhere!
I found this private bus in Iwata City the other day!
Tourist spots it was advertising looked very much like stamps!

It was even promoting local products in one instance!

I couldn’t figure out what animal that mascot represented but it is called “Shippei”!

But one thing is sure: this bus company is based in Iwata City as it sported its emblem, dragonflies!

Shark Bus in Shizuoka City!

I finally caught the “Shark Bus” in Shizuoka City!
I had noticed quite a few times and was really looking forward to take pics of it!

I was cycling on the pavement (it is ok in Japan!) and Had to stop at a traffic light when the bus just stopped by my side!
I just had the time to get off my bicycle and take pictures before it went away!
Some people may have wondered what this gaijin nerd was about!

Mind you all that seafood does not seem to worry about that horrible shark!

The design is actually the winning of a contest organised among primary schools in Shizuoka!

I caught this one this evening in front of Shizuoka JR Station but had only the time to take a single picture!

In this case the Prefecture/City is only advertising for the benefit of Shizuoka Tourism!

Buses are extensively used for advertizing especially by Shizutetsu Company in Shizuoka City and Central Shizuoka Prefecture!
Depending on the line one can discover some very interesting sites!

Carp floats can be seen flapping in the wind around May 5th, or Boys’ day in Japan.
Sagyou Company in Shizuoka is big maker of Hina Dolls and Carp Floats
They use this ukiyoe/wooden print design of Kintaroo, the famous young boy of Japanese legends!
