Japanese Iazakaya: Late Spring Quick Visit at Waga (2012) in Shizuoka City!

One of the superlative sake served at Waga: Junmai by Takashima Brewery in Numazu City!

Service: Very friendly and easy-going! Slow food!
Facilities: Very clean overall. Large and clean washroom.
Prices: Reasonable
Strong points: Great list of sake and shochu. Typical izakaya gastronomy with a personal touch!

As I said before it is not easy to socialize equally with all the good restaurants and izakayas in Shizuoka and arrangements have to be done sometimes! LOL
Anyway, to cut another long story short I managed to persuade the Missus again to pay a belated visit to Waga, one of our favorite izakayas in Shizuoka City!

Superb salmon sashimi from Norway!

Waga is another of those great places, totally unpretentious, where you are efficiently served with a constant genuine smile, without a fuss and with plenty of interesting explanations!

But when it comes to fish and sashimi in particular, Waga is well above the izakaya average, so have a good look at the menu or ask about the day’s offering to the staff who will only be glad to oblige!

A great marriage of the land and sea: Amadai/Seabream sahimi Salad!

Next you have to order their celebrated daikon katsu. Not so much a revoplutionary concept but I haven’t found a place which served a better version!
Not many are prepared every day so come early or reserve the dish over the phone!

And do not forget to check the day’s specialties!
If you do not read Japanese, the staff who are mostly Shizuoka Prefectural University students should manage to explain in English!

A tasty and satisfying dish for all seasons!

And don’t miss their desserts: mango Creme Brulee!
I know a lot of establishments who would be surprised at the quality of such a dessert in an izakaya!

Japanese Izakaya: Kohaku in Shizuoka City!

Extravagant sashimi plate at Kohaku!

Service: Very friendly and welcoming. Great explanations.
Facilities & Equipment: Very clean and great washroom
Prices: Appropriate
Strong points: Traditional and modern izakaya gastronomy. Very inventive cuisine with introduction of some Western concepts. Great seafood. Great sake list. Wine and other alcohols available. Intensive use of local products combined with ingredients from other prefectures!

It is always an intense pleasure to discover a new izakaya even in a town where you have lived for 36 years!
My good friend, Yasushi Imaizumi, owner of IMAIZUMI Co Ltd. had been raving about Kohaku so we decided to visit the place last Friday!

Located in Shichiken-Cho Street which has recently become a “back street” with the disappearance of all the cinemas/movie theaters relocated to the 9th floor of Cenova Department Store it moved to its new address under a new name last November significantly contributing to the revival of an interesting street of Shizuoka City!

A daily hand-brushed menu posted outside is always a good sign!

Takashi Kawauguchi/川口貴士さん works there everyday at lunch and dinner with a true passion for his craft. The family is helping especially his mother, a great source of local lore, and occasionally by his sister and father. The latter surprised me when he mentioned a now defunct izakaya called “Wa no Ji” I used to patronize in the late 1970’s! I wonder if he knows some of my “secrets”!

As I will report again for lunch (they apparently serve an extravagant curry with all kinds of different toppings!) I promise to come up with a better picture!

The place was empty at 7:00 when we entered but we soon found out it had almost been completely reserved so be warned!
Reserve a seat the counter where you will be able to share some genial talk with the chef and the regular customers!

If you don’t read Japanese, do not worry. You will probably end up with everybody explaining everything!
Now, if you do read Japanese take your time in choosing the dishes because there is enough to tempt you coming back every week!

A traditional Japanese setting!

You will discover a great attention to details with an individual wooden tray for your plates and cups!

Plenty of drinks to choose from, especially local sake and shochu from everywhere else!
But it might be a good idea to check with the Chef first!

These top-class local Shizuoka sake were not on the menu!

Neither were these sake actually concocted by a winery in Yamanashi Prefecture!

You are in Shizuoka Prefecture looking at the richest sea in Japan, so you must order a plate of sashimi which is always bound to include a great majority of local products, some of which you will never find elsewhere unless you have very deep pockets!

The specialty of Shizuoka, fresh sakura ebi/cherry shrimps, surrounded by maguro akami/lean tuna, aji/horse mackerel and saba/mackerel!

Another rare specialty from Shizuoka, raw shirasu/hard mouth sardine whiting flanked by another famous fish of our Prefecture, katsuo, bonoto sashimi!
I know a lot of people who come all the way from Tokyo just to sample those three seafoods!

But like any izakaya worth its salt, the cooked cuisine is the main attraction at Kohaku!
Home-made liver paste! As a Frenchman, I can assure you it was a real beauty!

Now, pate and terrine spell the difference between bistros back home in France, but here in Japan home-made satsumaage/deep-fried fish and vegetable paste will tell you at once which the good izakayas are!

I will have to forget other izakayas for a while as there are just too many beauties to sample at Kohaku:
Kakuni/角煮! Dongpo pork (pork belly)!

Chef Kawaguchi takes a long time in cooking his kakuni, but he will coat it with cornstarch before frying it lightly for a last touch! You simply must sample this Chinese/Japanese true delicacy!

What with all the great sake we were drinking, there was a limit to what you could eat in a single evening. Therefore we decided to try another dish for which Kohaku is celebrated: Ox tail stew!

Now, this is real Western gastronomy served with fresh fried potato wedges!
With all that great sauce available Yasushi asked the Chef to boil some pasta on the quick, which was done on the spot. Before savoring the pasta we had poured on our plate with plenty of sauce, Takashi’s sister came to us to grate some fresh parmesan on it without being asked!
Now, I call that great attention!

Vegan Sashimi at Yasaitei in Shizuoka City (April 2012)!

Service: Excellent and very friendly

With the warm days coming quickly one is always in search of refreshing food and drinks.
Fortunately in Shizuoka City this is not a problem at all with the abundance of vegetables!

Yasaitei, like many izakayas in Japan, puts salt in front of their entrance to ward off evil spirits.
They even asked a oni/goblin to look after them!

A single look at the counter will let you know you have entered vegan and vegetarian heaven although the food is designed for all tastes and priorities!

Although you might have to check the dashi, the first snack coming with my shochu (shochu is vegan by the way!)! People with special priorities will appreciate!

Thick boiled wakame seaweed and new bamboo shoots o-hitashi/japanese-style appetizer!

The main attraction of the day: Vegan Sashimi Plate conceived with local vegetables!

The dressing is made of sesame oil, salt and red miso paste only, so no problems!
Now what did the plate consist of?

“Cindy” orange tomatoes (very sweet) and ice plant.

Small red radish and red pimento.

Juicy and mild daikon on shiso leaves.

Crunchy and juicy cucumber and mini tomatoes.

And finally chopped red onion giving support!
So tasty and healthy!

Izakaya: Table Ribbon in Shizuoka City!

Sometimes (actually as often as possible) it is a good idea to take a break from the great restaurants in Shizuoka and to mingle with great easy and friendly customers and staff in a typical Japanese izakaya!
There are loads of them in town and some open until really late!
I have just discovered one which seems to be extremely popular with the locals of all ages, genders and classes: Table Ribbon!

The whole place right from the entrance is a happy bric a brac from vinyl covered kitchen tables to rugs on the floor!
You must visit the washroom! It is definitely crazy!

The whole menu is written in brush paint, but if you don’t understnad don’t worry you will be able to communicate!

As I said the food and drinks are typical izakaya fare: from pasta…

deep-fried sausages…

If you ask for room-temperature Japanese sake it is served in a tea pot!

Great vegetable tamagoyaki! A must try!

I loved their sui-gyoza/boiled gyoza!

And of course Shizuoka-style yakisoba!

It is a busy place! Make sure to reserve on week-ends!
Great fun for ladies and gentleemn, Japanese and expats!

Shizuoka Sake Bar: Sachiho in Shizuoka City!

At long last a bar that offers a wide range of Shizuoka sakes as a theme was opened last December in Shizuoka City!
And it is entirely non-smoking!

Mind you, since it opens at 5 pm, it is not always easy to take pictures outside or inside if you do not want to bother people with a flash!

It is conveniently tucked away in Takajo, Aoi Ku, a very busy place at night.
It also has the merit to be patronized both by ladies and gentlemen, mostly real Japanese and Shizuoka sake connoisseurs!

Ms. Sachiho Nagasawa/長沢佐線帆さん has shochu with her own label!

Plenty of sake on display but I know for a fact there are some hidden (better become a regular customer! LOL)!

There are only 7 seats at the counter.
No risk of a noisy crowd, although it might be a good idea to reserve!

The system is pretty simple:
Between 05:00 and 10:00 you must choose between the menus at 1,500 yen or 2,500 yen, all home-style food.
After 10:00 only drinks is ok!

A nice message on your paper napkin!

Now I like that! The sake is served in wine glasses for proper tasting!
Do confer with Sachiho San before choosing your sake!

Spanish Wine Bar Hagu in Shizuoka City!

Service: Friendly and easy-going
Equipment: Very clean overall. Superb washroom
Prices: Reasonable
Strong points: Great use of local products, vegetables, meat and fish in Japanese and foreign cuisines.

For the pleasure of the denizens of Shizuoka City the present trend seems to be in favor of wine bars!
I totally agree with it because, although I love my Japanese sake, I do also appreciate wine (normal since I hail from Bourgogne!)!

TAITA CORPORATION, already owning such establishments as Budo no Oka Restaurants, opened this new wine bar/bistro on January 17th and it is already pretty much crowded!

The concept is quite interesting with a relatively discreet entrance I discovered when I visited it for the first time in the company of a group of chefs and producers!

The atmosphere is very reminiscent of a cellar bar/restaurant in southern Europe!

Naturally, plenty of wines, Japanese and foreign at reasonable prices!

Superb raw hams from Spain!

Plenty of local vegetables, quite a few of them organic!

Chef Koushin Saita/才田享辰 and Manager Yusuke Kondo/近藤雄介!

Now, what did our merry band sample on that day?
Plenty of wines which I hope to describe in another blog!

Broccoli and carrot mousse in olive oil to help us wait for the first dish!

Parmegiano cheese on fresh cress!

Mixed starters including Spanish raw ham, French-style terrine de campagne and various salads!

Organic vegetables (the strawberries are also organic, all from Shizen no Chikara Farm in Shizuoka City!) served with a banya cauda dressing!

Sauteed mushrooms on savory toasts!

Spanish-style seafood hotpot!

Grilled Mangenton Pork on a beautiful bed of fresh vegetables!

Great grilled beef atop savory fried potaoes!
I must give a special mark to those fried potatoes!

Vegetables fritters/tempura to finish!

We just didn’t have any space left for desserts (I will check that next time!)!

Izakaya Gastronomy: Dinner at Waga (2012) in Shizuoka City!

Succulent plate of sashimi!

Service: Very friendly and easy-going! Slow food!
Facilities: Very clean overall. Large and clean washroom.
Prices: reasonable
Strong points: Great list of sake and shochu. Typical izakaya gastronomy with a personal touch!

It is not easy to socialize equally with all the good restaurants and izakayas in Shizuoka and arrangements have to be done sometimes! LOL
Anyway, to cut a long story short I managed to persuade the Missus to pay our first visit of the year to Waga, one of our favorite izakayas in Shizuoka City!

Waga is a great place, totally unpretentious, and laughing faces serving you efficiently without a fuss and with plenty of interesting explanations!

The snacks served with the first drink set the tone right away: Fried salmon in sweet and sour sauce!

Always check the specialties of the day!
If you cannot read the menu, no worries as the young staff is recruited in local universities who should manage some English!

The sashimi is top class at Waga and at a reasonable price! This is not Tokyo!
Madai/Seabream in front, Maguro akami/lean tuna, Kanpachi/Greater amberjack and Salmon!

We always order the daikon katsu at Waga!

Waga-style sauteed beansprouts in sesame oil!

You must sample Waga’s (large ) prawns fried in hot sweet and sour sauce!

They come also with great comfort dishes in winter!

Soba with plenty of vegetables and soft pork!

not only so delicious but so comforting and body-warming!

Izakaya: Dinner at Uzu In Shizuoka City! (Winter 2012)

Kan sawara/寒鰆/Winter Spanish Mackerel Sashimi!

Service: Excellent and very friendly. Very Japanese atmosphere.
Facilities: Excellent washroom facilities. Great cleanliness overall
Prices: reasonable.
Strong Points: Great sake from Shizuoka and Japan Great Shochu. Home-made umeshu. Mainly local products, especially organic vegetables.

Izakaya are the best places to visit in Japan if you wish to know and taste local food and products.
Naturally they come at different prices and levels, but here in Shizuoka it is a true embarrassment of choices!
We are lucky to have recently moved near arguably the best izakaya in Shizuoka Prefecture, Uzu, so it is only a question of visiting it regularly for a dinner of Shizuoka (and elsewhere) specialties!

It is located away from the busy center of town and not easy to find, although really famous!
The day’s specialties are always announced in calligraphy outside!

While the Missus had her wine I ordered a 5-sake sampling set! You can choose your sakes when ordering such a set!

Most of the earthenware used for serving are locally made!

The sashimi is always superlative in Uzu.
So what did we order?

Kan sawara/寒鰆/Winter Spanish Mackerel Sashimi!
This is a difficult fish to find in Shizuoka Prefecture and Uzu serves one a year. We were surely lucky!

So tender and served with grated wasabi from Umegashima, up the Abe River in Shizuoka City!

After the sashimi it was time to sample some meat!
Mangenton pork cutlets with plenty of chopped leeks!

The pork from Sanoman Co in Fujinomiya City is served as deep-fried cutlets!
I know a lot of friends abroad who would jump in the sea for that!

Uzu always serves extraordinary local organic vegetables: Giant burdock (oura gobo) roots chips salad!

This burdock comes from Matsuki Bio Farm in Fujinomiya City!

We followed this with a vegetable of the sea: Mozuku/水雲、海蘊 、藻付、海雲/an edible weed that comes by the name of Cladosiphon okamuranus

A very thick variety from Okinawa!!

We were still a bit hungry and opted to order the Giant Hokke!
Hokke/法華 goes by the unusual name of Arabesque Greenling and comes from Hokkaido! Ours was a truly enormous sample!

Grilled to perfection, it is savored with grated daikon, soy asuce and lime!
It certainly needed the two of us to finish it!

Izakaya: Hachokura in Shizuoka City JR Station!

Service: Friendly
Facilities: Clean

Strong points: Lots of fresh local fish and produce. Great range of sake and shochu.

If you happen to be hungry but still limited in time, be it for lunch or dinner, Shizuoka City JR Railway Station will offer you plenty of reasonable and decent enough establishments that will serve you either fare found all over Japan, or for the more adventurous, ingredients mainly from Shizuoka Prefecture!

Hachokura in the western building of Asty Mall is such a place.
You cannot miss it with its big board describing local fare!

Even if you are in a hurry, take the time to have a good look at all the seafood and sake on offer. You are bound to make some interesting discoveries!

You can choose a seat at the counter or in a private room.

Traditional Japanese country atmosphere?

You may also sit at tables by the window.
I paid them a visit at lunch time when it is quieter. Evenings are really busy!

Sitting at the counter can turn into a lot of reading!

Tuna Carpaccio is really reasonably-priced!

Local fish and local sake!

Again, a lot to choose from!

You can always choose one of their lunch boxes/plates but their lunch sets are a real bargain when you consider that the beer is included!

So my lunch set started with beer and a snack.

Sashimi plate (tuna, horse mackerel, salmon, cuttlefish, sweet shrimp, tamagoyaki). Note the freshly grated Shizuoka-grown wasabi!

Gastronomic Izakaya: Autumnal Dinner at UZU in Shizuoka City!

Kenya Yoshimura/吉村健也, the owner-chef of Uzu in Aoi Ku, Shizuoka City, although it is celebrated as one of true exponents of Shizuoka Gastronomy, has always averred that his establishment will be first and always an izakaya!

In Shizuoka City this is a fine line which is easily crossed over and over by many establishments, whatever the genre, in a rare region of Japan where almost all ingredients are available all year round!
It is Paul Bocuse who said, “There are no great chefs, only great ingredients!”. A bit simplistic, although it could be very well the best way to describe gastronomy in this Prefecture!

Kan Sawara Aburi/寒鰆炙り/Seared “Cold Weather” Spanish mackerel

To put it briefly, it had become grand time to pay a visit to Uzu in Shizuoka City and check what seasonal fares were on offer!

Spanish mackerels come back in reduced numbers through the Suruga Bay in Autumn and they are best appreciated seared on the skin and served in fairly thick and tender sashimi!
Kenya exclusively uses wasabi roots from a single producer up the Abe River/安倍川 in Umegashima/梅ヶ島. He added that he uses only medium-sized roots for best taste!

Take your time before choosing your drink and do not hesitate to ask for advice!
I chose a beautifully strong Ginjyou Genshu by Hatsukame Brewery in Okabe/Fujieda City!

Always served in glassware or earthenware created by local artists!

I always order the seasonal “goro goro” salad mainly consisting of local organic vegetables lightly sauteed beforehand before being seasoned into a magnificent salad. Enough to feed a vegetarian!
Can you see the chestnuts in front cooked whole with their crispy “skins”. A discovery!

Bear in mind that this is a very limited offering you had better order in advance on a busy night!

Uzu is one one of the few establishments in Shizuoka to offer Mokomodake/もこもだけ/Manchurian Wild Rice whose swollen crisp white stems are edible in many manners!

In season Kenya simply serves them grilled with mayonnaise!

Another great treat for vegetarians!

Last for the night we ordered a truly extravagant and rare delicacy only found in Shizuoka!
Grilled thigh of Amagi Shamo Chicken/天城軍鶏 exclusively bred by Mr. Horie/堀江さん in Izu Peninsula and served with a fresh wasabi dressing!
This is arguably the best chicken in Japan and it certainly tastes more like game than anything else!

Japanese Gastronomy: Katsuo Tataki at Waga!

Shizuoka Prefecture, thanks to its long shores along the Suruga Bay, the richest Bay in Japan, and around the Izu Peninsula is replete with fish and seafood all year round. Comparatively little fish is imported from other shores and people here keep to seasonal fish.
Katsuo/鰹/Bonito, also called skipjack tuna, is a very popular fish in Japan and probably the only sustainable tuna species these days. It is also extensively eaten in the Maldives, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, France and Spain.
At the beginning of the Fall large schools swim across the Suruga Bay and the quality of the fish in Shizuoka supermarkets, sushi restaurants and Izakaya is simply extraordinary!

Naturally, it is delicious consumed raw as sashimi or cooked as “nimono”, “teriyaki” or in curries, but my preferred cuisine is tataki!
Although the method is simple enough, timing is crucial!

Freshness is also crucial.
Instead of preparing it beforehand, the chef at Waga, upon receiving the order, will cut out a large chunk from a fresh skipjack filet and grill it directly over the flame just long enough to sear the fish a few mm deep. He will then plunge it into icy water to stop the cooking and wipe it dry. Simple? Yes, but try it, and you will find out a lot of little details have to be taken into account!
The chef will then cut the katsuo in large slices and serve them artfully arranged on a plate with a light cold sauce/dressing.

For a perfectly balanced and beautiful dish he will prop the fish atop plenty of lettuce and decorate it with finely cut white leek and a quartered large plum tomato, all grown in Shizuoka Prefecture!
Of course, the dressing is a secret but it is based on soy sauce, ponzu and lime juice with soft spices!

Soba Restaurant: Yoshino

Service: Shy but friendly
Facilities: old but clean. Traditional
Prices: Reasonable
Strong points: 10 wari soba. Good list of Shizuoka sake.

As I said before there a lot of soba restaurants of various levels in Shizuoka Prefecture, but Yoshino is definitely a member of the Big League!
It seems that all the doctors of the neighboring clinics have made it their main lunch lair!
But do also come for dinner as there is enough on the menu to attract you again and moreover they serve some top-class sake brewed in our Prefecture!

Among the single dishes I recommend two of them;
-Tamagoyaki/Japanese omelette!

Very light and fine, it is not easy to achieve this way!

Yaki miso/Grilled Miso!

It is actually a mixture of white miso paste, buckwheat and yuzu spread on a wooden spatula and cooked under a grill!

You will find it only at good soba restaurants!

I noticed they are using wasabi salt by Tamaruya Co.!

Actually I should have said 3! Buckwheat and Sakura shrimps tofu!

You will find this delicacy only in Shizuoka Prefecture!

I ordered 10 wari soba tenpura set!

10 wari soba (jyu wari soba) means that the noodles are 100% made of buckwheat flour, whereas the cheaper 8 wari soba (Hachi wari soba) contains 20% of wheat flour!

Soba tsuyu/Soba soup to be added to the remaining accompaniment of sauce, scallions and wasabi to be drunk as a soup!

Now, Yoshino serve their own traditional Japanese dessert: Soba Shiratama Senzai!

Cute, isn’t it?

It is topped with ice cream covered with matcha tea powder. The white balls/dango are made of buckwheat and rice flour. The small jelly cubes are made of Japanese agar agra!

The bottom half is filled with azuki beans and anko/sweetmeats!

Japanese Izakaya: Maguro-Ya (Honten)

A lot, and I mean varieties as well as volume, of tuna swim past Shizuoka Prefecture and it simply becomes evident that a Japanese izakaya would specialize in tuna gastronomy, be it raw or cooked!

We have such a place in Shizuoka City called Maguro Ya/まぐろ家, that is “Tuna House”!
It is located on the second floor of a venerable building in Takajyo, an area replete with izakaya as well as first-class restaurants.

Their menu is certainly worth taking photographs as the explantations become a real study!

Even the snack coming with the first drink includes cooked tuna (featured above with duck and pickled cucumber and octopus salad)!

The following will give you a good indication of you can sample at reasonable prices:

“Three-colored Tuna Sashimi Plate”!

Hon-maguro Akami/Blue Fin Tuna lean part (back).

Hon-maguro Chu-toro/Blue Fin Tuna semi-fat part (belly).

Tonbo-Maguro Toro/Albacore Tuna fat part (belly).

Maguro Kushiyaki/Tuna brochette with plenty of mayonnaise and chopped scallions.

There are plenty of sake, shochu and more for all according to their tastes and priorities!
They also serve 4 different sake from Shizuoka Prefecture in the traditional Japanese way: overflowing glass!

The menu is not all tuna! Try their deep-fried prawns!

Sizzling hot, they will please all, Japanese and expats!

Negitoro and daikon salad. Grated tuna with plenty of thin daikon sticks.

A healthy salad served with an egg yolk you mix with all beforehand!

They offer a six-nigiri sushi plate according to the season!

But the personal reason for my visits is their tuna hamburger (called slider in some countries!)!

A slice of tuna is prepared as deep-fried seafood and sandwiched inside a bun with lettuce and tartar sauce!

Far healthier and tastier than many offerings in notorious diners! LOL

Shizuoka Izakaya: Waga!

Daikon Katsu!

Service: Very friendly and easy-going! Slow food!
Facilities: Very clean overall. Large and clean washroom.
Prices: reasonable
Strong points: Great list of sake and shochu. Typical izakaya gastronomy with a personal touch!

I’ve always been a great fan of Waga since it was open. Pity I cannot visit it often as it is just too near my workplace! LOL

The design is definitely modern and comfortable allowing you to choose between seats at tables, tatami (with dug space for your legs!) or at the counter.
Food here is definitely of the slow and attentive variety and generous!
On top of that the difference is made with some interesting specialties!

The o-toshi/snack coming with the first drink are worth a second look: salmon deep-fried in cornstarch served with fine ratatouille!

Small deep-fried renkon/lotus root sandwiches and mushrooms in sweet and sour sauce!

Like in any Shizuoka izakaya worth its salt the sashimi is first-class: madai/true seabream!

A Waga specialty: deep-fried nagaimo sticks!
The nagaimo being fried, it is not sticky at all, but tender and crispy! A discovery!

Another Waga specialty (you might do well to order it in advance!): Daikon katsu!

The daikon is first slowly simmered in dashi souip stock, then drained and cooled down before being covered with breadcrumbs/panko like for tonkatsu/pork cutlets, deep-fried and served cut seasoned with a personal dressing!

Another Waga’s classic: kabocha croquettes baked with tomato and cheese sauce!

Waga’s tamagoyaki/Japanese omelette is special! (at the back are three cups of different sake for comparison!)

The original arrangement will make you think you are eating two different kinds!
Incidentally I always have it for dessert!

Served with an original sweet seaweed sauce!

1st Agrigraph Japan Brew Bar in Shizuoka City!

At long last after 2 months of intensive preparations Agrigraph Japan opened its first Brew Bar/Open Air Beer Hall on Saturday July 16th on Aoi Space just behind the Shizuoka City Hall!

This event followed a new concept:
The food was provided by 6 izakaya/bars in Shizuoka City: Uzu, Mando, Hana Oto, Yasaitei, Odakkui and Growstock.
Furthermore, the food was conceived with agricultural products of Shizuoka Prefecture including vegetables and meat. The latter was provided by Sanoman Company from Fujinomiya City!

The whole staff of Agrigraph with the help of people working for Suntory and Subway Companies were put to work including some pretty (?) ladies!

Everyone had gathered in the intense heat at 12:00 to erect the tents, place and lay the tables, etc. Even the IT and translating staff contributed! I can tell you they neeeded plenty of water when I visited them first around 13:00!

All the (very reasonable considering the quality!) prices were clearly indicated!
