Facilities & Equipment: Very clean overall. Excellent washroom. Entirely non-smoking!

Strong points: French Bistro specialties, especially meat! Doubles up as a wine bar!

SN3O0169

La Table du Boucher is fast becoming another hot spot in Takajyo Machi, Aoi Ku, Shizuoka City, an area already replete with many good establishments.
It serves French bistro-style dishes with an Italian note at times and it has the merit to double as a wine bar!
I visited it the other day for the third time to check on more of its menu!

SN3O0181

Beef carpaccio!

SN3O0179

The word “carpaccio” tends to be used for anything these days although it should apply to beef only!

SN3O0177

Botan prawn tartare!
Mind you, the word “tartare” should apply to horsemeat only!

SN3O0173

Sauteed sanma/Pacific saury!

SN3O0175

A French bistro classic!

SN3O0176

Onion gratin soup!

Try and catch a seat on the terrace in the warmer seasons!

SN3O0220

Located in a very quiet back street of Ebisu, it makes use of lot of of vegetables from Shizuoka Prefecture and Niigata Prefecture and also fruit from Shizuoka Prefecture delivered directly from the producers thanks to M2 labo Inc.’s network in Shizuoka Prefecture!

SN3O0216

Kenjiroo is specializing in healthy organic and bio wines!
I didn’t have much of a time to visit him at ease, but at least let me introduce you to the morsels he serves there!

SN3O0218

On that particular he had Shizuoka-grown potatoes sauteed in garlic!

SN3O0222

Now, this is a dish you must try, especially in winter or in cool nights!

PORCO-CASA-9

Spare rib and vegetable hot pot!

SN3O0221

I will personally visit the place time and again for that single dish coming in many seasonal fashions!

Strong points: Very generous cafe/bistro multi-genred gastronomy. Great variety. Great products. Entirely non-smoking in very modern atmosphere. Great books!

BLUE BOOKS cafe is a great place for hamburgers, hot sandwiches, salads and books, but it is also a cafe which tries to introduce new drinks on their menu on a constant basis!
Certainly appreciable in cold winter!

SN3O5472

The best time to enjoy such drinks in middle afternoon or early evening when the place is not as crowded as usual!

SN3O5476

Time to relax!

SN3O5471

They have two new drinks on the menu these days.
The first one is N.Y. Chocolate!

SN3O5473

Intriguing and appetizing!

SN3O5474

It is a very thick hot chocolate drink topped with a marshmallow and cocoa powder!
You need a spoon to scoop it all. I mean the chocolate drink at the bottom of the cup!

SN3O5475

Of course you need the spoon to either eat the marshmallow or mix it in!

The second drink is called “Two Tone”

SN3O5653

It is actually a latte with thick chocolate and expresso coffee mixed in for a double sensation!

SN3O5654

Soft whipped milk on top!

SN3O5655

Really appetizing from above!
